Hi, I will be moving to Melbourne, FL with my boyfriend in May 2004 and I would like to learn more about the area. I found many apartments that I'm interested in, but I would like to have more information about the communities. If anyone reading this lives in the Melbourne or surrounding area, could you please let me know where the best places to live are. I want find a community that is near a park, beach, and shopping. Most importantly, I want to live in a safe apartment or townhome community. I currently live in Germantown, MD and some apartments look and sound great in thier advertisements, but are not very nice neighborhoods. I would appreciate any help and/or advice you can give me. Thanks!

The Hamptons Apartment community is definiteley the only place to live. Situated between the Indian River and the Atlantic ocean. Theres beach access and a boat dock and if you live at The Hamptons, you get to dock your boat for FREE! The apartments homes are the largest in town...over 1,200 - 1,540 sqft. Starting from $835 and can't live by the ocean anywhere anymore and pay what they are asking. I lived there for a few years and will get back one day. you can see them at  CHECK IT OUT! All you need to do is bring your beach towel or fishing pole or both!

My husband and I are looking for a place to stay for about a month. This will be next Jan/Feb(2004). We are, maybe, going to move to the area and we want to look around. We also have a standard poodle that has to come with us. Can't leave him for a month. He is a very clean and well behaved dog. Price range around $1200. Must be clean, nonsmoking and safe. Thank you

I was in Florida, Brevard country to be more specific. I visited a place called KoKoMo's Lounge. It has to be the best place to go for some fun, without all the bar fights . I would recommend this place to any one who likes to sing and have fun. It is located at LakeWashington Square. On the corner of Lake Washington Rd, & Wickham Rd. It is a great place to visit. Please send me some travel information about the beaches of mid- to southern florida for May 1997.
-- Christi Hill ( submitted 11/24/96 Had a wonderful time in Melbourne! Of course my previous trips to Florida were centered around the 'touristy' things to do like DisneyWorld. The Brevard County area is different. There's so much to see and do. Beach for the sun-worshippers, nature preserves for the naturalist, lots of golf courses, and much more. My favorite spot though was Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge - I'd heard so much about the park and it was worth the trip.
